Printing On Tissue Paper

Printing On Tissue Paper With An Inkjet Printer

Materials

  • Downloadable Graphics Of Your Choice
  • Tissue Paper
  • Card Stock Paper
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Krylon Workable Fixative

Instructions:

1. Take a piece of tissue paper and lay
it on the shiny side flat down. (Sometimesthe paper gets wrinkles on it/ironthose out.)
2.Lay the card stock paper down on top of the tissue paper. Align it so there is 1/2 inch away from the edge of the tissue paper.

3. Cut off the excess tissue paper leaving 1/2 on all sides.
4. Fold over the tissue paper and tape it to the card stock paper. Do the longer sides first and then the tops. Be careful not to pull too tight when you are folding over the edges. Place tape on all four corners to secure it.

5. This is the way it should look after taping it down. Now it's ready to be print on.

6. After printing let the tissue paper dry completely. You can iron the tissue paper to speed up the drying process.

7. Seal the printed tissue paper with Krylon Workable Fixative. By spraying the Krylon it will prevent the ink from smudging and spreading. Follow directions on the can for drying time.

About The Artist

Sonny Puckett is a jewelry and fabric designer. She attended FIT in New York City in 1967 and subsequently worked for 20 years in the garment industry as a production manager.

Always a student, Sonny decided to move to Los Angeles, CA in 1994, so she could learn to design fabric. She also took drawing, pastels, and printmaking at local college.

In 2005 she moved to Alabama and worked at the Alabama Shake-speare theater in the costume department.

The next step in her journey is learning new ways to design jewelry combining fabric, thread, graphic art, and vintage components.

Sonny lives on an acre of land with her supportive husband, Rafi, and her Labrador retriever in Montgomery, Alabama.
